Cincinnati State. “Advantages of Online Learning”. 2004. 15 March 2007.

Summary:
This article is an article from the University Of Cincinnati State in Ohio. It states many advantages to their actual online course system. It does not give any negative elements of it in any way. However, this could be done so more people will get involved in their online program.

Importance:
This article is important because it shows how larger universities can have a great online system along with their traditional system. I gather that it is possible to have a good system as long as the university is willing to put forth the effort.

Connections:
It is similar to education I have had in the past because I have been enrolled in online courses during my college experience. I also plan on enrolling in many more to come.

Supporting Source:
This article could definitely help support my argument because it only tells positive things about online classes.

Argumentative Source:
If I was to critique one thing about the author to this particular article I would have to say that he does not say one thing bad about the entire system. There has to at least be one problem and he does not mention it at all.

KOREPETYCJE LLC. “Why Take Online Classes?” 2007. 15 April 2007.

Summary:
The article discusses the advantages and disadvantages of online courses taken through universities. It gives an argument on both sides of the topic on whether online courses are good or bad to take. The good arguments seem to prevail, but there are still bad sides to the equation. The author does a good job of distinguishing and looking at different points of views between both sides.

Importance:
This work is important because it addresses the facts on how online courses can be fit for some people, but not fit for others. The knowledge of these facts allows many people to decide if online classes are fit for them.

Connections:
This is similar to work I have done because I have taken online courses before during my freshman year of college. This makes it much easier to pick a side of the argument.

Supporting Source:
This article can be used for support for my own argument because I think that online courses are an extremely good idea to have in the college atmosphere. It states many good reasons on how online courses help many people.

Argumentative source:
I would have to critique the points he makes about online courses being bad. I would do this because they are not mandatory for students to take so therefore they should not cause a problem because it is up to the student.

School!

School is definately not my favorite thing to do in the world. I dread waking up to go, I hate doing homework, and most of all I absolutely hate studying for exams. Waking up just seems to be very hard for me to do. I am not a morning person and knowing that I have to go to school I have no motivation to want to roll out of bed. Home work just seems to always pile up. Papers stink really bad becasue they take up a lot of time. And things that need to be done on the internet are even worse. I think it would be much easier to do it on paper but seems that since technology is increasing more and more teachers and putting home work on the comuputer. I think another reason they do this is becasue it is much easier to grade on the computer. The absolute worst thing is studying for exams. Especially if they are a cummulative exam. I would rather write 10 papers than to study for one exam. I just actually dislike school a lot. I have always disliked it. When I was in high school and middle school I missed so many days of school becasue I just did not want to go. I think that if a person can make good grades it should not matter how many classes they miss. I do attend college much more than I did in high school becasue I have learned that if I don't go to class I usually do not do very well in the class because it seems that college is much different than high school, but that is what all my teachers told me so I should of expected it!!...

music

Music is a huge part of my life. It really is not something that I talk about a lot becasue most peple do not know anything about music. But I really like old music like 60s 70s and 80s but then again I alos love music from our time too. The thing I really love about old music is it basically expresses something different than the music today. It tells of real feelings and a lot of the music today I DO NOT think does that. My favorite band ever is The Doors. AHHHH I love them.! :) a whole freaking lot. I couldn't tell you what my favorite song of theirs is becasue I love soooo many of them. Actually I like all of them. I also really like Neil Young, The beatles, and bob dylan those are just to name a few I really like. I also like depressing music. I know that sounds bad, but I mean I only like it when I am depressed becasue it makes me feel good in a depressed way. If that makes sense? I really don't know how to explain it but basically I just really like music a whole lot.

Tennessee volunteers!

I am probably the biggest tennessee volunteer fan you will ever met. I really do not know why I am such a big fan becasue I have never even lived in tennessee. I think maybe because I grew up playing soccer and basketball and both their women soccer and basketball teams were really good. This is when I think I started liking them and becoming a fan. Over the years it has grown to basically a passion and I love everything about the university of tennessee. AND I am not even over exhadrating a little bit. I really really really like tennessee football now. When football season comes around you won't miss a saturday where I am not dressed in orange and depending on the game I might even have some sort of face paint or face tattoo on. HA. I know this sounds crazy but I love it. Since I have such a great passion I have grown to like everyone and thing that deals with tennessee. Peyton manning is a legend there and now I have come to LOVE LOVE LOVE the Colts because of him. Basically I am not one of those people who jump on the band wagon. I will be a die hard fan of tennessee for the rest of my life even if I am a graduate of another college.

My Mom

My mom is probably my most favorite person in the entire world. I recently had surgery and she came to hattiesburg and was my nurse for about a week. She is absolutely amazing. The only thing I don't like is when she comes to visit all we do is go out to eat and I feel like I gain so much weight when I am around her. I do love that we always go shopping and she cooks for me and basically does everything for me. I am her only daughter and I think that could be why we are so close to each other! but I would do anything for her and I think she would also do anything for me. We have actually never gone through a stage where we fought a lot or anything like that. The last time I had a fight with her was probably about a year and a half ago. My mom also knows EVERYTHING about me. And when I say everything I mean absolutely every thing about me. I love my mom more than I love anyone or thing in the entire world. She is also moving to Memphis here shortly and I really don't want her to becasue I will not get to see her as much as I do now. Even though I will love to visit memphis as much as possible I dread her moving there. I also dread her moving there becasue she will be taking our dogs with her which means I will not get to see the dogs as much anymore either, and I do love my dogs a lot too. :)

My second paper was much easier for me to write than my first. I think it was easier because it was more like a research paper than an analysis of stories. It was not the easiest things to find sources for my paper but after looking through three different search engines I managed to find some that were good for my topic. My topic was internet privacy, so it was basically about how people can get their information taken on the internet. Finding my sources basically consisted of knowing where to look for them and what words to type into the search engine. At first I had a little trouble finding good sources but after putting some time and effort into it I had no trouble finding them. My paper ended up only having three sources but I think if there were more sources I would of had to make the paper much longer because usually one source has a lot of information and it would not be thourough enough if I only put bits and pieces of a source into it. I do not consider myself to be a good paper writer but I think that if I put a lot of effort into the paper that normally they come out pretty good.

First Draft of paper #2

My first draft of this paper is going much more smooth than the one for the first paper. I guess I had to get back into the feel of school after the christmas holidays and did not want to write a paper. This paper is going to be about internet privacy and how it can be fixed. I think that it is terrible that one can not even get on the internet in their own home without thinking they are going to have someone intrude their privacy. I think that with all of the technology of going to the moon in a space shuttle, and being able to test life on other planets that the privacy on the internet should be fixed. I just do not agree that we should spend bilions and billions of dollars a year on the space program when there are many things in the society of america that definately needs to be fixed.

Valentine's Day!

I had to work on Valentine's Day, so my day kind of sucked. I did; however, get presents from my two room mates, my mom and dad, and my best friend. I do not have a boyfriend so I didn't get any sort of present from a boy. :( ha! I also made cookies for all my really good friends that are in the sape of hearts. They were really really cute!!! :)

My job

When I moved to Hattiesburg for my sophomore year of college I planned oon getting a job. My parents did not make me get one. I just knew I would lay on the couch all day every day if I didn't have anything else to do. I wanted to get a job at a clothing store because I am a fashion merchandising major and I thought I would like that sort of job. I thought this becasue I want to eventually open my own boutique with clothes. I started to apply at places around town and started at Longhorn Steakhouse becasue it is located about 2 minutes from my apartment. I went in and talked to the manager and he asked me to come back for an interview. I went through the interview process and in September of 2006 I started as a host there. I started off hating the job. It was no fun and I did not really know anyone. As the days went on things got a whole lot better. I started to know people and the work hours seemed so much shorter. I actually do not like the job much, but I absolutley love many of the people who work there. The people are definately what keeps me there. I just seem to absolutely love most of them. There are some who I do not really get along with, but I usually just avoid them. It is not that hard to avoid them either becasue the restaurant is pretty big with lots of thigns to do and lots of other poeple to talk to. I don't exactly love all my managers, but they are not the hardest to deal with. They usually give me the days off I want and allow me to goof off when I am there. Sometimes on Friday and Saturday nights I hate it becasue there are so many hungry people that want to eat. We go on hour waits and people get very upset. When this happens they always manage to take it out on the hosts. I guess I can not really complain about my job. It's not bad at all. I get when I want off, I love the people I work with, and the pay is not bad at all for what I do! :)

getting sick?

Every year around this time I manage to get a cold. A lot of te time it is not only a cold, but eventually turns into something much worse. It is definately the weather that does this to me. I absolutely hate it with a passion. One day it is freezing, and the next it is hot. The sun shine also comes and goes. Rain is here every other day it feels like. This does however make it that much better when the day is beautiful. I really like it when the days are actually worth waking up for. It is terrible when I have to walk to class and the weather is bad because then it makes class that much worse. I mean class is bad enough without having to be soaking me, sweating, freezing, or any other thing in between. I know everyone knows this feeling too. All in all the weather lately stinks, and it makes me get sick.

Problems with my paper.

My main problem with my paper is my thesis statement. I am writing on prejudice in "cathedral". I know what a thesis statement is I just don't really know how to make one out of prejudice. I am doing prejudice by saying the husband is prejudice of the blind man in two ways. Literally prejudice of him becasue he is blind anad also prejudice of him because of the jealousy of his wife.

Samuel/ This is just to say

The story Samuel by Grace Paley was kind of a strange story to me. It started out like it was going to be a simple story about four boys going to see an exhibit. It also explains how boys are very tough. When the boys were playing on the train I never expected for one of them to be killed by the train because of all the reference to how tough boys are. The story ended with Samuel dying because he fell off of the train, his mom mourning from his death, and then evenutally mourning more when she had a new child becasue it was not Samuel. I think this story might be trying to say that little boys will do anything becasue they are very courageous. I think this because the lady on the train told them it could hurt them, but they paid her no attention and just kept on playing how they were.

This is just to say is by William Carlos Willaims is an extremely random poem if I had to say anything about it. All it said was how someone (we do not know the narrator) ate the plams in the freezer that were someones breakfast and that they are sorry about it. I guess if one was to express things in poems it is an okay way to try to get ones forgiveness.

A day in the life of me.

I woke up today around 12:30. I was planning on getting some things done that I haven't done in a while, before I went to class. So I proceeded to get in the shower and get dressed. I then opened the door to leave my apartment when a piece of paper fell down from the door handle outside. It was a piece of paper explaining how our rent was late and that we had three days to pay it or we were going to be evicted. I was then highly upset due to the fact that I knew this was not the case. I then called the front office where they told me I had a balance of $500 to pay. I pretty much fought with her about this problem and did not get anything settled but I KNOW for a fact that I do not owe that money. I dislike the people who work in the office here a lot. The irritate me everytime I talk to them becasue they are stupid and lose things, and pretty much just can not handle any problems that are sent in there diretion. After I got this problem sorted out I went to the bank to deposit some money. By now it was too late for me to get anything else done becasue of class. I then ust went to Wendys and got lunch. I ordered a #5 which is a grilled chicken sandwich with no tomato and a baked potato instead of fries with a diet coke. I then went home and did not have enough time to eat it, so I ended up going to class hungry. When I got to class we had to do this crazy experiment to explore different cultures. I thought it was probably one of the weirdest things I have ever done, but I was pretty happy because it took up about forty five minutes of class time. After class I drove across town and paid our power bill. After this One of my room mates and I went to the grocery store and bought stuff to make lasagna, and a coupl of other things. When we are at the grocery store I found out that they made Mr. Pibb zero which totally and completely made my day! :) I am still really happy about it. We then came home from the store, put everything up, and I started making dinner. I then grabbed my computer and sat in the living room and started on some homework. Not to forget the fact I was drinking a Mr. Pibb zero. The rest of the day is going to consist of eating dinner, and going to a friends to watch a movie, and most likely drinking a couple if not several of my new favorite drink Mr. Pibb Zero.
